Idolatry and Iconoclasm after Diana

St Stephen’s Church, 17 Canonbury Road, London
10th October – 3rd November 2007

Acquisition featured a commissioned animation created in collaboration with the official ITN news court illustrator, Priscilla Coleman who sketched scenes from the original footage of Diana and Charles’ engagement announcement in 1981. These portraits of Diana appeared in the animation juxtaposed with the symbol of the cross, taken from the painting on the reredos at St Stephens Church.

Also on display were a series of drawings produced in Mexico, Spain and London exploring further the imagery that publicly presented Lady Diana Spencer, aged nineteen.
